Sensei Shintani passed away.

Sensei Denis has asked us to pass on the following message:

​”Today is the day that Sensei Masaru Shintani passed away 14 years ago in Kapuskasing, Ontario. Can we take a moment today to reflect on Sensei and remember ….” his humility, his respect for everyone, and the way he led his life with honour in peace and harmony.

Congratulations to Sensei Quinn for receiving the rank of Shodan (1st Degree Black Belt) over the weekend! Also congratulations to Sensei Corey who received his Shodan at the same grading. We would also like to congratulate Sempai Hannah for participating in the black belt grading and coming home with the perfect attitude to prepare for her future grading. Way to go, everyone! We’re very proud of all of you!

Registration  Noon – 1pm

$10 entry per person

We especially want to wish Sempai Hannah, Sempai Quinn, and Sempai Cory good luck as they head off to their black belt grading this weekend in Edson, AB.

It’s surprising how much fun one can have when they’re breaking stuff!! Even if it’s their own knuckles! Ok… so we didn’t have any broken knuckles but there was definitely some bruising and swelling. We have the photographic proof but won’t publish it here! Let’s just say we will be spending some time working on focus points and targeting 😉

The Just for Kicks students had a great time throwing and submitting our instructors as well! We’ll all have to watch out for those sneaky quick arm bars!!

The Manitoba Provincial Tournament is being held the following weekend, May 9/10, in Boissevain, MB. The information for that tournament is posted below in previous links.
