Karate is one of the few sports that requires very little equipment. After their first month in Karate, students(karateka) are required to purchase a white karate Gi which is free from all markings. The approved Wado lettering may be sewn on the left breast of the Gi top. A mouth guard and hand pads are required for sparring (kumite). For all students (male AND female), a protective cup is encouraged for kumite. Female karateka should also consider using a chest guard. All equipment (except the protective cup) is available for purchase through the club.
