Here is the information poster and the registration form for the 2025 Hamiota tournament. This tournament is a fun event that is close to Carlyle. Many of the Hamiota members attend our tournament annually. It would be great to return the favour!
For anyone selling tickets for the Arcola Optimist Sled Rally, the tickets are due next week at class!
ALL TICKETS IN YOUR BOOKS MUST BE SOLD!
If you are unable to bring your tickets to class on Tuesday, they can be returned to Regal Auto Body today, or from Monday through Wednesday next week. All books must be returned, sold, no later than next Wednesday, January 22, by 4:30 pm.
Thank you to everyone who sold tickets! This is a great fund-raiser for our club and the Arcola Optimist Club.
Happy New Year to all of our members! We’re excited to get back into our karate season! 2025 is starting with a bang!
SESSION 2 began before Christmas break, so all fees for this session are due this week. All session fees MUST be paid to be eligible for the GRADING.
Regular classes resume this Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the regular times. Our GRADING is taking place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 during regular class times. Please arrive a little early so you can do your own warm-up and the grading can begin at the proper time. Please be aware that the gradings sometimes run a little long.
The Regina tournament is being held on Friday, January 24 and 25, 2025. It runs very similarly to our tournament. There is a clinic on Friday evening, January 24, and the tournament is on Saturday, January 25. Details are posted below.
The clinic begins tomorrow evening, Friday, November 30 at 6:30 pm with our Youth clinic for ages 5 to 11 followed by the Jr/Adult clinic for ages 12 and up at 7:30 pm.
The tournament portion of the weekend begins on Saturday morning with registration from 9:00 to 9:45 am, and the bow-in at 10:00 am. The black belt competition will be first with the Just for Kicks competition starting around 11:00 am.
Our members are not required to participate in the tournament, but it would be great to see everyone there helping out in some capacity. EVERYONE can bring their raffle table prizes to Regal Autobody or to Sensei Kevin at the high school in Carlyle.
Our tournament is coming up fast! We are looking forward to all of our karate friends returning to Carlyle to participate in our annual tournament. Although not required, we really hope all of our members participate in the tournament. If you are unable to compete, there are always many other ways to participate. We always need help at the scoring tables, in the canteen, at the raffle table, at the registration table… the list goes on. Many hands make light work!
The clinic is being held on Friday, November 29th, and the tournament is Saturday, November 30th. Sensei Denis Labbé will be attending and leading the clinic on Friday evening. See below for the schedule.
Here is the Registration Form if you wish to download it and bring it with you to the tournament. Please do not bring it to the dojo before the tournament. If you have any questions, please ask a sensei at class.
Our annual club Bottle Drive is happening tomorrow, Saturday, October 19, 2024!
Club members are asked to meet at Regal Autobody along highway 9 at 9:30 am. Please meet at the north side closest to Merit Ford. Make sure you are ready to head out. There will be no food or snacks available before lunch time. Teams will head out to start collecting at 10:00 am.
Remember, many hands make light work! This is our club’s main fundraising event of the season. Please come and help out! It’s a lot of fun!
Our annual bottle drive is taking place on Saturday, October 19! It would be great to see everyone there to help out.
We will be needing some trucks to help with collection on that day, so please let Sensei Juanita know if you are able to bring a truck with you! We will be sending out teams of 3 or 4 people to collect the items in specified areas of town, and we can always use more people to help sort the items as they’re dropped off.
More information about location and time will be given out in class.
