Duffle Bag Update
So it seems that Under Armour has changed their product line and the bags that we had previously used are no longer in production. Our supplier is meeting with the Under Armour reps to see about any availability of our bags and to look at the product that will be replacing it. Unfortunately, if we have to go with some kind of new product, it will not be available until mid-July. That means waiting until the fall to receive our bags.
We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.

Another Tournament!
The Manitoba Provincial Wado Kai Karate Tournament has a new home and date this year. The new date is APRIL 27, 2013. That’s just around the corner. So anyone into tournament mode will appreciate that!
We don’t get too many other tournaments that are within reasonable driving distance from our club so when they do come up it’s great to try to support them. We’ll have the information and registration forms at the workout on Tuesday.
According to Google Maps, Selkirk is roughly 450 km from Carlyle. About the same distance as travelling to Saskatoon. It is just north and slightly east of Winnipeg. There’s a map at the bottom of this post.

Registration / Sign in
For clinic and tournament: 9:00am – 10:00am
For tournament only: 12:00pm – 12:45pm
Costs
- $10 per person for clinic
- $20 per person for tournament (or $40 per family)
- $25 per person if participating in both (or $60 per family)

Guest Instructor: Sensei Alby Morris, Nidan (2nd degree black belt)
Clinic will focus on self-defense techniques

Bow in / Divisions Determined: 1:00pm

… to everyone who attended the Saskatoon/Warman tournament this weekend!
The tournament was held in the brand new Legends athletic centre in Warman, SK. What a huge and beautiful facility. The tournament was well attended, although we could have used a few more black belts, and our club was well represented in many divisions. We look forward to hearing about your tournament experience at our workout on Tuesday.

Good work last night everyone! It was great to see so many people out on a holiday week.
Good luck to those who will be attending the Saskatoon/Warman Tournament this weekend. It’s great to see so many of you going and supporting another Saskatchewan tournament!
Remember to check the posts below and print your registration sheets early in order to speed up the registration process at the tournament.
For those who are not sure where the tournament is being held, here is a small map of Warman. From Saskatoon, Head north on Highway 11; Turn Left (West) into Warman on Central Street; Turn right onto Centennial Blvd and follow that until you see the Legends Centre on your left side.

Regular Class Tonight
Just a reminder that there is regular class tonight.
Please bring your fees for Session 3 if you haven’t already done so. And don’t forget your passport books so you can get it updated.
There will be a workout next Tuesday if anyone will be around.

Saskatoon Tourney Hotel Reservations
Ok. Here’s the skinny on hotel rooms in Saskatoon for those members planning on attending the Saskatoon/Warman Tournament on April 5 & 6.
For some reason, hotels are quite booked up in Saskatoon for this particular weekend.
We were able to set up a small block of rooms for the Friday night only April 5, 2013. Here’s the details:

Call the number above and ask to book a room under group name “Carlyle Karate” (it is shorter than Moose Mountain Wado Kai Karate Club!)
The rooms are Double Rooms with 2 queen size beds.
The rate is $139/night plus tax.
They only had 6 rooms available so you better call soon!
The cut-off date is March 25. You must reserve your room by this date or the remaining rooms will be released.
There will handouts with this information at our class on Tuesday.
