Great Start

We had a great start to the new chapter of our karate story! It was so exciting to have this Just for Kicks (age 5, 6, 7) class as the first class in our new home! It was fitting that many of these young martial artists are beginning their karate journey in our brand new dojo!

We discovered a few small kinks to work out, but overall it was a great night of karate. It was nice to be back on the floor training with other actual people!

Thursday is our next day of classes, and we are equally excited to see how those go.

It’s not too late to register. You can still come to one of the classes and we can complete your registration form with you.

See you at the dojo

Bottle Drive Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, Saturday, October 17, 2020 is our annual bottle drive! We appreciate everyone’s help for this event. We need people to help collect bottles, usually our younger members, and people to help sort and bag the collected bottles and cans.

Please meet at the new dojo at 9:45 am so we can get organized quickly and begin collecting around 10:00 am. Please dress for cooler weather!

Thank you to everyone for helping us get a great start to the next chapter in our karate story!

See you at the dojo!

Bottle Drive on Saturday

Our Annual Bottle Drive is taking place this Saturday, October 17, 2020!

We can use all the help we can get! If you are able to help, please meet at the new dojo, right beside Living Skies CrossFit (see the pics below), at 9:45 am to get organized.

We are also looking for at least 2 more trucks and drivers to help us out on Saturday. If you are able to bring or lend us your truck, that would be great!

See you at the dojo!

REGISTRATION NIGHT TONIGHT!

Registration for the 2020-21 karate season will take place TONIGHT from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Carlyle Martial Arts Centre – right beside Living Skies CrossFit.

Please enter at the front door, beside the large bay door, and you will receive instructions from there. We are only permitted a few people inside at once, so please be patient until you are called in. Fees can be paid in cash or by cheque. We are not currently set up to accept credit card payment.

See you at the dojo!

Bottle Drive and Registration

We will be holding our 10th Annual Bottle Drive next Saturday, October 17, 2020! We plan to head out around 10:00 am. We encourage any and all of our members to come out and help with our major fund-raiser for the club. Keep checking here for updates on where we will be meeting.

Our Registration Night is coming up fast! Registration is taking place at the new Carlyle Martial Arts Centre (located beside Living Skies CrossFit) on Tuesday, October 13 from 6:00 till 8:00 pm. We encourage people to try to spread out the time you plan to come and register to help us with physical distancing requirements. Pandemic protocols will be in effect for our registration night. Registration forms will be available at the dojo or you can download and complete the form linked below. The forms MUST be filled out COMPLETELY. This means including your full mailing address with postal code and town. Thank you.

CORRECTION!

Only (pre)existing members who already have a passbook and number should set up a profile on the Shintani web site at this time.

After we register our members this season, we will receive passbooks for those who do not yet have them. Once you receive your passbook, THEN you should go and set up your “profile” on the Shintani web site.

If you have already set up, or tried to set up a profile on the Shintani web site that is totally fine. We can finalize everything later.

We apologize for the confusion with the new system.

See you at the dojo!

2020-21 Registration Form

Here is the registration form for the upcoming karate season.

2020-21 Registration Form

The Moose Mountain Karate Club is undergoing MANY changes this year, so we ask for your patience as we work through any glitches in our system.

IMPORTANT

ALL students and instructors are required to set up a “Profile” on the shintani.ca website. This is mainly for insurance purposes, but also helps the Federation track the progress of the membership. These profiles must be complete BEFORE students begin training. If you have trouble setting up a profile, please ask a Sensei to assist you. The link is provided below.

Shintani Federation Profile Set-up

After the students have a profile on shintani.ca, and our classes have begun, the Sensei will then “Register” the students on the Federation web site and the appropriate passbooks and registration stickers will be sent to us.

We are very excited to begin training in our new “Carlyle Martial Arts Centre” and look forward to seeing everyone back in the dojo!
