Registration night is coming fast!
Registration is being held on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm at the Carlyle Elementary School gym. Please use the rear NW doors off of the bus parking lot. Here is a link to the 2019-20 Registration Form if you wish to print off and complete it to be ready to go at the registration night. Please remember to FILL OUT THE REGISTRATION FORM COMPLETELY with your full mailing address (box #, town, postal code), and phone numbers including an emergency contact name and number. Registration forms can also be handed in at the first class on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
All classes are held on Tuesdays. Just for Kicks (age 5, 6, 7) from 6:30 to 7:30 pm; Jr/Adult (age 8 and up) from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.
For our new members, we will have senior students and black belt instructors there to help you if you wish to order a gi and/or other equipment. As early as possible, all karate students should purchase the following equipment:
– Gi (white karate uniform)
– Mouth guard (mandatory)
– Hand pads (mandatory – we have a few sets at the dojo for student use, but preference is that students purchase their own)
– Shin guards (mandatory at green belt and up)
– Groin protection (STRONGLY RECOMMENDED for male and female students – we do not sell these, but they are available locally at Home Hardware and in the city at other stores carrying sports equipment)
One of the nice things about karate is that the equipment will last a long time if cared for properly. Each of these items should last several years before needing to be replaced.
