February 27/28, 2015 – Manitoba Provincial Tournament – This year, the Manitoba Provincial tournament will be held in Hamiota, MB and hosted by our good friend Sensei Scott Lints. An entry fee is usually required, but all members of our club are able to participate in almost all of the listed events. If you have questions about an event on this list, just ask one of the Senseis to explain it to you.

In case anyone was planning on coming along, the Weyburn grading has been postponed due to poor road conditions in the area. It will be re-scheduled soon.

For those of you who wish to continue attending tournaments, the next one coming up near us is the Manitoba Provincial tournament.

Congratulations to Cindy Cassils who was presented with the 2014 Clint McFarland Memorial Award. 

The McFarland award is from the Saskatchewan Provincial Wado Kai Karate Tournament. It was started after the accidental work place death of Clint McFarland and is orignally sponsored by his family.

After each year’s tournament, the Senseis can each nominate one person whom they feel is deserving of the award. The nominees do not have to be the winners or top finishers of a division but should best demonstrate the combined characteristics of skill, spirit, and humility that Sensei Shintani believed in so strongly. The recipient is essentially someone whom the Senseis would like to introduce to Sensei Shintani.
