A few more photos from Ontario to come!!
Wind-up tomorrow night!
Our annual potluck wind-up is tomorrow night!
The club is providing burgers/hot dogs, and buns. We just ask for you to bring along something you enjoy eating and share it with the rest of us!
We would like to get started around 6:30 pm.
No gi, just show up!
We will be posting MANY photos from the Ontario trip very soon. Stay tuned. Our club did very well with several of our members receiving medals. We’ll update soon on that as well.
Here is a link to our trip page with quite a few images already! Most of the workout images, so far, are from our Thursday night workout with Sensei Marco in the Jarvis Wado Kai Karate dojo. The images from the larger gymnasium are from the National Tournament.
See you at the dojo!
Regular class tomorrow
Tomorrow will be the last regular class of the season!
Tuesday, May 30, will be the potluck wind-up!
Be sure to wish good luck to our members travelling to the Shintani Memorial Tournament and Clinic on Wednesday! We’re certain they all will be excellent representatives of our organization.
To those who are travelling to Ontario, please check the Shintani Tournament page on this web site for some updated information.
See you at the dojo!
9 more days!!
… until our members leave for the Shintani Memorial National Tournament and Clinic in Simcoe, ON!!
They are working hard on their katas and working out regularly to stay fit for all of the walking and karate they’ll be doing while in Ontario. Be sure to wish them good luck!
Here is the Tournament flyer – 2017-Nationals
Their plans, in a nutshell, look something like this…
After arriving in Toronto late Wednesday night, they will stay at a Toronto hotel for the first night.
Day One (Thursday) is a day of sight seeing in Toronto during the day, then travelling to Simcoe, ON, where they will have a workout at the dojo of Sensei Marco Reyes, Godan (5th degree).
Day two (Friday) is a day of sight seeing at Niagara Falls, then returning to Simcoe to participate in the Tournament Clinic.
Day three (Saturday) is Tournament Day!!
Day four (Sunday) is the return trip home.
Have Fun! We know you all will be excellent representatives of our dojo!
Regular Classes this week!
See you at the dojo!
Congratulations! and Thank You!
Congratulations to all of our students on an excellent grading last night! Everyone worked really hard,
Congratulations, also, to those who received new stripes or belts!
Thank you to Sensei Darren for being able to come and run our grading! It is always exciting to have him work out with us!
Here are a few pictures of parts of the grading.
Important Time Change!
The grading tomorrow night will begin some time after 6:00 pm, not promptly at 6:00 as we announced in class.
The elementary school is holding a dress rehearsal for their musical production tomorrow that goes until 6:00 pm. We will have to wait until they have cleared out enough for us to begin our grading.
Please arrive at the dojo shortly after 6:00, but be prepared to wait for a short while before we can go into the dojo. If the weather is nice, you could do a warm up outside before we go in. We will give you a few minutes to do your own warm up while we get things set up for the grading.
Good luck to everyone tomorrow!!
See you at the dojo!
